American Girl Samantha™ Online Doll Drawing - Official Rules
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS SWEEPSTAKES. MANY WILL ENTER, FEW WILL WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. ENTRY OPEN ONLY TO LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE 50 UNITED STATES AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA WHO ARE AT LEAST EIGHTEEN (18) YEARS OF AGE. VOID IN PUERTO RICO, ALL U.S. TERRITORIES AND POSSESSIONS, AND WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.
1) SWEEPSTAKES CALENDAR AND TIMING: The American Girl Samantha™ Online Doll Drawing (the "Sweepstakes") starts at 12:01 am Central Daylight Time on September 22, 2014 and ends at 11:59:59 pm Central Standard Time on December 31, 2014 (the "Sweepstakes Period"). Entries submitted during the Sweepstakes Period will be eligible for the drawing conducted by an independent judging firm. Limit one (1) entry per person for the entire Sweepstakes Period. The random drawing will take place on or about January 19, 2015.
2) ELIGIBILITY: Open only to legal residents of the 50 United States or District of Columbia, 18 years or older as of date of entry. Officers, directors and employees (and members of their household or immediate family, i.e. parents, children, spouse, siblings, grandparents, the “steps” of each and persons residing in such immediate family members' household) of all American Girl Publishing, Inc., American Girl Brands, LLC, Costco Wholesale Corporation and their respective parent, related, affiliated and subsidiary companies, their advertising, promotion and web design agencies, all other entities involved in the creation, administration, or fulfillment of the Sweepstakes and their respective successors and assigns (collectively, the “Sweepstakes Entities”) are not eligible to enter or win.
3) HOW TO ENTER: No purchase, entry fee, payment, or proof-of-purchase necessary to participate. During the Sweepstakes Period, go online to www.americangirl.com/winsamantha and follow the online instructions to complete your entry form by including your complete first and last name (no initials), street address, valid email address, telephone number and date of birth. You may not enter in store at American Girl or Costco Wholesale Corporation locations. Limit one (1) entry per person/email address during the Sweepstakes Period. In the event of a dispute over the identity of any selected prize winner, the entry will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry, and the selected prize winner may be required to provide identification sufficient to show that he/she is the authorized account holder of such email address. Entrants may not participate with multiple email addresses or under multiple identities, nor may entrants use any device or artifice to enter multiple times during the Sweepstakes or as multiple entrants. Any entrant who attempts to enter with multiple email addresses, under multiple identities or uses any other device or artifice to enter multiple times will be disqualified from participation in the Sweepstakes and all entries submitted by that entrant will be void. Only fully completed entries are eligible. Proof of submission will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Sponsor. It is the sole responsibility of the entrant to notify the Sponsor in writing if the entrant changes his or her email or postal address during the Sweepstakes Period. All entries become property of Sponsor and will not be returned.
4) PRIZES/ODDS: A random drawing to select one hundred (100) prize winners will be conducted on or about January 19, 2015 by an independent judging organization, whose decisions are final and binding on all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Each prize consists of one (1) Samantha™ doll and one (1) Manners and Mischief: A Samantha Classic Volume 1 book (Approximate Retail Value [“ARV”] $115; Total ARV of all prizes, $11,500). In the event the Samantha™ doll and Manners and Mischief: A Samantha Classic Volume 1 book are unavailable, a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded at Sponsor’s discretion. No substitutions, cash redemptions, or transfer of prize except as provided herein. Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received. Prize winners will be notified on or about February 2, 2015 by the email address provided on official entry form.
5) PRIZE CONDITIONS: Limit one (1) prize winner per household. Each selected prize winner will be required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability and Publicity Release form (“Affidavit/Release”), within ten (10) days of receipt. If such documents are not returned within that time, or if an entrant is found to be ineligible, or if he/she does not comply with the Official Rules or if prizes or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, then such selected prize winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected in Sponsor’s sole discretion. Any prizes unclaimed as of March 30, 2015 will not be awarded. Allow 4-6 weeks for shipment of prize after returning all required documents and verification completed. Taxes on prizes are the responsibility of the prize winners.
6) INTERNET: Sponsor is not responsible for lost or late entries nor for electronic transmission errors resulting in omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions or limitations of any kind, or inaccurate transmissions of or failure to receive entry information by Sponsor due to technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website or any combination thereof. If for any reason the program is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process. Caution: Any attempt by any person to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent of the law.
7) PRIVACY: Prize winners’ names and contact information will be kept by Sponsor in order to contact prize winners for the purpose of fulfillment of prizes. Information supplied by winning and non-winning entrants will be used by Sponsor and Sweepstakes Entities for remarketing purposes if entrant has opted to receive such information at time of entry. If you are selected as a prize winner, your information may also be included in a publicly-available winner’s list.
8) GENERAL: Sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, with venue in Dane County, Wisconsin. All claims must be resolved in the state or federal courts of Dane County, Wisconsin. By entering this Sweepstakes, participants agree to abide by and be bound by these Official Sweepstakes Rules and the decisions of the judges, which are final in all matters related to the Sweepstakes. By accepting the prize, each prize winner consents to the use of his or her name, photo and/or likeness for advertising and trade purposes by the Sweepstakes Entities without additional compensation, except where prohibited. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this Sweepstakes and randomly award the prizes from among all eligible entries received prior to action taken by Sponsor should any technical difficulty beyond the control of the Sponsor corrupt the administration, security, or proper play of the Sweepstakes, or if, in the judges’ opinion, there is any suspected or actual evidence of tampering with any portion of the Sweepstakes. This Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws. By participating in the Sweepstakes, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judging organization and waive any right to claim ambiguity in the Sweepstakes or these Official Rules. Prize winners and participants also agree to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless the Sweepstakes Entities, including Costco Wholesale Corporation and their parents, affiliates and subsidiaries, and the officers, employees and agents of each, from and against any claims, damages or liability due to any injuries, damages or losses to any person or property of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse, use, loss or misdirection of any prize, or participation in any Sweepstakes-related activity or participation in this Sweepstakes, or any other error in the offering or announcement of any prize. Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with the Sweepstakes will be ineligible for prizes.

All requests for rules must be received by December 15, 2014 and all requests for winner lists must be received by March 16, 2015.
